INDIA’S T20 WORLD CUP 2022 SQUAD BOUND TO AUSTRALIA

INDIA’S T20 WORLD CUP 2022 SQUAD BOUND TO AUSTRALIA by 11ic Blog

Following back-to-back home T20I series wins against Australia and South Africa, India will enter the ICC T20 World Cup in high spirits. In spite of this, they are aware that the T20 World Cup in Australia will present entirely different challenges. The Men in Blue left for Australia on Thursday morning. A black suit was worn by the ICC T20 World Cup 2022-bound team, including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Rishabh Pant for the special occasion.

After failing to make the semi-finals last year, the 2007 champions will be looking for a victory this year. With victories over Australia and South Africa in the bilateral series before the World Cup, Team India gained some momentum, and one now hopes they can make it all the way.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a captured photo of the whole squad including all the players, Rahul Dravid- head coach and supporting staff members, on their official twitter. “Picture perfect. Let’s to do this, team India” as the caption of BCCI post.

More than 50,000 people have liked the Twitter post since it was shared. A number of Indian fans left comments wishing the players "good luck" in their upcoming major challenge.

Earlier in the season, India lost both all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and frontline pacer Jasprit Bumrah to injuries. Jadeja will be replaced by Axar Patel, but there are still rumors about who will replace Bumrah. Mohammed Shami or Deepak Chahar may replace Bumrah on the 15-man T20 World Cup roster. It is anticipated that a formal announcement will be made in the near upcoming days.

T20 World Cup team members will arrive in Perth, Australia, on Thursday, where they will spend a week adjusting to the local climate. In light of the fact that over half of the team has never played in an Australian T20, being based in Perth will help them adapt to the pace and bounce of Australian pitches.

The T20 World Cup 2022 is scheduled to begin on Sun Oct 16, 2022 in Australia, as announced in the cricket schedule. There will be 45 matches in T20 World Cup 2022, including the final to be hosted by Australia in October and November. ICC World Twenty20 2022's final match will be played in Melbourne on November 13. Semi finals will be played on November 9 and 10 at the Sydney Cricket Ground and Adelaide Oval respectively.
